Savills

Rural, Energy & Projects

Savills offers a wide range of schemes in the rural, energy and projects division, such as food and farming, which allows graduates to immerse in the constantly evolving industry. The pressures of providing cheap food and a sustainable environment combined with Britain leaving the EU means the sector is an exciting industry to work in and is changing faster than ever.

Moreover, a career in the rural sector is an exciting and constantly changing pathway, driven by evolving demands of the ever-changing marketplace.

Another interesting area within rural is forestry. Commercial forestry, farm and estate woodlands require ongoing management from planting to felling in order to increase timber quality, identify new opportunities and maximise returns.

There is no standard day in my team because everyone works on such different projects. Normally I like to get to work early to have time for a cup of tea and write my to-do list for the day. Some days this will involve site visits, other days its report writing or meetings all day. Once a week, when everyone is in the office, my team sits down to discuss the work going on during the period. My team is very open about what they having going on and it’s a great way to learn about things that I wouldn’t normally get involved with.
